New Construction in Southwest Austin |
|
by Vikki Goodwin
Meridian is one of the new Southwest Austin developments that has done quite well. There are approximately 275 platted lots in the neighborhood and about 185 homes built so far. There are at least a dozen homes under construction right now and several are complete and waiting for new families to move in. Construction on homes in Meridian began in 2006. Builders in the neighborhood include: Wilshire, Newmark, Meritage, David Weekley and Standard Pacific. Homes range in size from 2000 to 4500 square feet. The smaller homes are in the front section and were the first to be built. As you go further back in the neighborhood, the homes become larger. Prices range from the $290Ks on up to $650K. Currently there are fifteen or more homes for sale, several homes that have been designed and are in the early phases of construction as well as lots where you can build a floor plan of your choosing.
David Weekley is currently having a red tag sale, hoping to sell their homes before the end of the year. If you are an avid golfer or tennis player, this neighborhood will be very appealing. Located near 1825 and Hwy 45, you simply take the next right on Hwy 45 to get to the Circle C golf club and tennis courts, and you don’t have to live in Circle C to join. Meridian also features a neighborhood swimming pool and playground and has land set aside for an elementary school to be built in the future. Currently children attend Clayton Elementary, Bailey Middle School and Bowie High School. If you are looking for a larger family home in a new subdivision, you might want to check out Meridian. At the same time, you should always take a look at what resale homes have to offer to be sure you are getting the best value for your money. If you are considering a move, and want to know what’s out there without having to start from scratch, call or email me for my professional advice and free information.
