Hill Country Galleria Mall Austin

The Hill Country Galleria Mall  is officially open as of the Fall of 2007.  It is expected to become the new shopping mecca of southwest Austin.  The project which includes retailers – Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor LOFT, Eddie Bauer, Talbots, Coldwater Creek, Dillard’s, Barnes & Noble and a Cinemark Theatres offers a shopping experience much like that of “The Domain” in North Austin, with it’s village type atmosphere.

Outside of the retail shops, the Galleria will also feature a 1.3-million-square-foot lifestyle center, which includes a 30,000-square-foot City Hall, as well as an amphitheater and multifamily housing.

This past February, Trammell Crow Residential broke ground on 50 brownstone condos and more than 300 apartments. Another 150,000 square feet of office space is located above the Galleria’s stores.

“Putting in that kind of tenant gives (the project) a name and some local identity,” said Tom Kier, senior director of retail development for Opus West Corp., the project developer. “It adds a nice flavor to the project to have a local tenant that people recognize.”
